2021: Nevada Will No Longer Honor Florida Concealed Handgun License

Concealed carriers with permits issued in Florida, Mississippi, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Virginia will no longer be allowed to carry their handgun in the state of Nevada. The change will go into effect as of July First, 2021.

Florida gun law

In particular, Nevada, Reno, and Las Vegas are popular vacation destinations, so this is sure to affect many concealed carriers in Florida.

Oh snap! I visited Vegas from July 31-Aug 4 this year and carried. I even claimed the firearm in my checked baggage! I checked for reciprocity before I left and all was good. Thankfully I wasn’t stopped while there.

Checking both the Florida and Nevada websites. It looks like this is changed to having reciprocity again.

Scott Kappas (Travelers guide to the firearm laws of the fifty states) and Las Vegas law say no. NRA-ILA, Nevada Dept of Public safety (rccd.nv.gov) say yes. If the government website has it wrong what do you do?! Cant get anything but run around voice mail out there.

Nevada IS still recognizing Florida’s conceal handgun permit to carry a gun in Nevada. They’re just not recognizing it to legally carry a swirchblade..

For a blue state as Nevada is? Former Floridian here. We open carry all over. So F Florida even it’s a Red State. You can’t open carry. Everyone open Carry’s here. No problems. And your Governor is turning soon to be a Rhino.
